The Home Inventory Record Keeper, V. 2.0
Welcome to the Home Inventory Record Keeper!
It's not dramatic, but it is a handy way of keeping track of
everything you have in your house. You can, of course, give a
location for everything, and indicate the actual or estimated
value of each item.
We haven't included a manual on the disk, because we truly
feel that you won't need one. If you need help at any time,
just press the F1 key and you'll see a context-sensitive help
screen. If you really have a problem, call us at either of
the numbers listed below, leave a message, and we'll get back
to you as soon as we can.
We also haven't included an installation procedure. Set up a
directory, load all the software into it using the DOS copy
command, and type HOMEINV <ENTER> to run it. (For the novices
among you, <ENTER> means to press the key marked either ENTER,
RETURN or with a backward-pointing arrow.)
This program is being distributed as shareware. This means
that you are free to use it on any number of computers, make
copies and distribute them to your friends, and upload it to
bulletin boards. Please note that this is NOT public domain
software - we own the copyright. If you find the program
useful, we'd appreciate a contribution of $25. This will
bring the following benefits:
1. We'll be pretty happy
2. You'll help support more quality software
3. You may feel that you've done a good deed
Seriously, we're hard at work on a much more comprehensive
version of this program. We'll probably sell it as commercial
software, complete with a manual. We promise that it won't
be memory-resident, and it won't include a notepad, a phone
directory, an appointment calendar or an ASCII chart. It'll
cost less than $30. We'll notify anyone who's registered with
us when the new version is ready (probably in late fall of
1989). Even if you don't wish to register, we'd appreciate
your comments so we can make our products as helpful,
responsive and easy-to-use as possible.
